Underappreciated during its brief theatrical release in 1980, Somewhere in Time has gained an enthusiastic following over the years (with its own fan club, no less). Although the unabashed romance between a modern-day playwright (Christopher Reeve) and an early 20th century stage actress (Jane Seymour), whom he literally wills himself backwards in time to meet, borders on the ridiculous, there really is a magical quality to this carefully made production that transcends its arguable flaws. The notable extras include an informative documentary and audio commentary by director Jeannot Szwarc. Recommended. (T. Rich)
