Tiring of throwing the bull? Try riding one. You'll get your priorities straight in less than 8 seconds. In truth, Chasing the Dream is a testosterone-drenched tribute to a sport I can only describe as suicidal. The video celebrates the tight-lipped, tight-jeaned cowboys for whom bull-riding is practically a religion (if you're going to ride one of these 2,000 pound beasts, you'd better believe in something!). Pure adrenaline junkies, about the only thing that brings these guys up short here is a bull named Bodacious, an animal so powerful and dangerous that it shatters the jaw of a cowboy (Tuff Hedeman) simply by slamming him against its head. (Once out of the hospital, the very first bull Tuff draws is--Bodacious. Proving that bull riders do possess some common sense, however, Tuff passes on riding his nemesis.) Chasing the Dream will appeal to a western and rodeo audience or to anyone who likes to sing "Macho Man", while animal-lovers will hate it and cheer for the bulls. Recommended. Aud: P. (S. Fisher)
