During WWII, America needed some serious morale boosting, so when huge numbers of people went to the movies, cartoon shorts shown before each show were the perfect avenue for disseminating huge amounts of propaganda. The government also developed training films with the likes of Bugs Bunny and other cartoon celebrities to help inform and educate young illiterate boys about warfare. An interesting look at the power of the media. Recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (R. Pitman)
