Although Bob Saget is known for his wholesome stints as the clean-cut dad on Full House and the corny, wisecracking host of America's Funniest Home Videos, he's better known in professional comedy circles for the “blue” material from his standup routines. Viewers unaware of this might be a little shocked when Saget makes his entrance in the opening minutes of this bawdy Comedy Central roast, zipping up his pants while walking on stage behind a goat and an elderly woman. And that's mild compared to what follows. Comedy Central roasts are famously profane and obscene, and thanks to DVD you can see them minus all those annoying bleeps that mar the naughtiest (and often funniest) gags. On hand for this one are Saget's Full House castmates John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, and Jodie Sweetin. Stamos takes some good shots at his former costar, but nothing like those fired at Saget by such comics as Greg Giraldo, Susie Essman, and Jon Lovitz, to name a few. Essman's material is particularly tasteless, while Lovitz peppers his “tribute” with some decidedly uncomplimentary remarks that could offend gay viewers. Of course, Saget gets his revenge and effectively one-ups each of his tormentors. If you're collecting the Comedy Central roasts, this sure-to-be-popular entry is a strong optional purchase. Aud: P.
