Using the same format as Eating: Out of Control (reviewed above), this program addresses the problems that students face with stress. After outlining some of the symptoms of stress, students in a discussion group offer various situations that could be stressful (taking tests, parent-child communications, etc.) Neither the information given by the professionals nor the advice from students is particularly earth-shattering. Stress reduction techniques such as relaxation, meditation, and positive self talk are briefly discussed, but by and large, the program suffers from too much off-the-top-of-the-head talk from students. Even with practice and some preparatory reflection, today's students are not the most lucid creatures on earth; heard impromptu, they're often barely intelligible. Again, this might be appropriate for starting a school discussion, but is certainly not a necessary purchase for public libraries. (See EATING: OUT OF CONTROL for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
