A colorful, vibrant look at the Gypsy Rom people singing and dancing in Egypt, Turkey, Romania, France, Spain, etc., this feast for the eyes and ears unfortunately suffers from an arbitrary use of subtitling (mostly not), no indication of which country each sequence is set in, and an annoying mismatch between the singing and the singer's lips (most likely because the music is dubbed). Still, there are some glorious moments in this beautifully filmed quasi-documentary, and for that reason alone this is a strong optional purchase. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
