This 1990 filming of the "behind the scenes" coming together of the Broadway choreographer Larry Fuller (famous for his work on Evita), and the internationally known Stuttgart Ballet Company to perform On Your Toes is mediocre at best. Originally, the musical opened in 1936 to rave reviews as the dueling dancers wowed audiences who had never before seen the fusion of classical ballet and tap dancing in the traditional Broadway theatre. The filmmaking of the documentary, however, is considerably more pedestrian. An optional purchase. Aud: H, C, P. (R. Pitman)
