The family unit is often the last place homosexuals can turn for support. This Academy-Award nominated documentary is introduced by a collar-wearing cleric who asks if the nation's historic commitment to fairness will stand (although that same commitment which forms the basis of our most treasured documents--the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence--has often not been met in the past). Many gays and lesbians might wonder the same thing, but these uplifting interviews with parents of lesbians and gays may bring hope. While many of the parents admit to being shocked by their child's homosexuality, and are honest about the difficulty in changing their entrenched attitudes, all are ultimately glad of their acceptance of their children's sexual orientation. This tape is about families and love and it should have a place in libraries. Highly recommended. (R. Reagan)
