Kennedy and the subsequent cover-up according to this new documentary by Denis Mueller. Made and released to tie-in with Oliver Stone's JFK, The Assassination of JFK is actually a quite good smorgasbord of possible influences in the killing ranging from JFK's disastrous handling of the Cuban invasion to his threats about dismantling the CIA. After some opening hoopla about JFK's assassination resulting in a legacy ranging from the Iran-Contra scandal to the S & L crisis (as if Camelot were somehow much, much more than a metaphor), the video gets down to naming names. Interviews with various conspiracy buff writers (Carl Oglesby, John Davis, Mark North, etc.), as well as analysis from former CIA operative and author John Stockwell, examine the Cuban fiasco, the Kennedy's links to (and Bobby Kennedy's harassment of) the Mafia, the friction between Kennedy and the CIA, and the Warren Commission's faulty reasoning for the single assassin theory. Ardent followers of the assassination theories will find nothing new here, but much of the information will be new to many viewers, and while some threads are more tenuous than others, nothing truly wacko is wheeled out here.
