The tragic burning of the Hindenberg on May 6, 1937, continues to be one of the most haunting and fantastic disasters ever captured on film. This 2-volume set follows the largest, grandest aircraft in the world from its inception by inventor Count Ferdinard Zeppelin (called both a "lunatic" and a "bulldog") to its last 37 seconds--all the time it took to evaporate into flames, claiming 36 lives. Combining numerous interviews with historians, eyewitnesses, and survivors (incredibly, 62 people lived), along with archival film footage, this is an excellent portrait of the world's most famous airship. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (R. Pitman)
