Baywatch's Gena Lee Nolin hosts this purported history of the bikini, which was named after a nuclear explosion site (Bikini Atoll) in 1946 by the French inventor Reard. At first, the program tries to offer a sampling of styles over the years and pads the content with old movie footage. By the second half, however, the filmmakers give up the history aspect and just visit bikini competitions and show sequences of skimpily-clad women rolling in the surf looking at the camera as if it were Antonio Banderas.
