The two most recent productions from Hatzoff share the same high commitment to quality as the their earlier releases. Washington State's Emerald City: Seattle takes viewers to the top of the Space Needle, from which they may plan two circular tours encompassing both sides of Seattle. Along with a general history of "the city built on hills," viewers visit some of the specific sights Seattle is noted for: Pioneer Square, the Pike Place Market, the Kingdome, the Woodland Park Zoo, and a slew of parks and shopping centers, as well as the natural sights which border it: Mt. Rainier, in particular. A great introduction to one of the most livable cities in the U.S. Washington State's Long Beach Peninsula looks at a much lesser known part of Washington, the southwest corner, where viewers can see what is called the "World's Longest Beach"-28 miles of unbroken sandy beach along the Pacific coast. One of the reasons why it may not be so well-known is that people don't swim here, except in a few safe places. Nevertheless, there are a host of other activities taking place-virtually something to see every weekend during the summer tourist season, including the International Kite Festival. Some of the other sights which are always on hand include the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, the oldest salmon hatchery in Washington at Chinook, and the quaint village of Oysterville. Both of these titles are recommended, the one on Seattle, especially so. (Available from: Hatzoff Productions, 2326 Sixth Ave., Suite 230, Seattle, WA 98121.)
