I don't bite my nails ordinarily, but this stylish lesbian Mob thriller from the Wachowski brothers (Assassins), sent me into Cuticle Chew City. Jennifer Tilly (Bullets Over Broadway) and Nina Gershon (Showgirls) star as le femme Violet, mistress to Mob money launderer Joe Pantoliano, and le butch Corky, convicted felon out on parole, respectively. After satisfying their basic instincts, the girls hit on the potentially lucrative--but dangerous--idea of ripping off the Mob. When things begin to go very, very wrong, the suspense reaches...well...let's just say you won't need the clippers. Highly recommended. (R.
