After a "schoolyard" scuffle with a bullying co-worker, an anonymous cubicle drone (Tim Allen) beefs up over a period of weeks with revenge on his mind. It's an insipid gimmick on which to hang a movie, but Joe Somebody is only getting warmed up: once word gets around the office that Joe wants a rematch with his tormentor (Patrick Warburton), he becomes Big Man on Campus (or office park as the case may be) and has to choose between shallow, back-slapping new pals who want him to fight and the affections of the office cutie (Julie Bowen from TV's Ed) and his 12-year-old daughter (Hayden Panettiere), who loved him just the way he was. Uninspired, immature, insultingly predictable drivel devoid of filmmaking aptitude or even a single moment that isn't as stale as year-old bread, this is not recommended. [Note: DVD extras include audio commentary by director John Pasquin and producer Brian Reilly, four deleted scenes (with optional director commentary), and a five-minute featurette on fight choreography. Bottom line: decent extras for a stinker film.] (R. Blackwelder)
