Doing time for justifiable homicide in a snake-pit women's correctional facility, Johnny, a Native American woman, falls for a fellow inmate whom she's reluctant to leave when her sentence is up. At the same time, the outside world is calling her in the form of her younger brother, an aspiring musician who resorts to petty crime while waiting for his sister's release. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And so it is with this well-meaning but scarcely competent no-budget indie flick. The acting is mostly monotone, the script is barely functional, and, except for a few nice exterior shots, the lensing is pretty much perfunctory. Fortunately, the running time is brief. Not recommended. (T. Rich)
