The title conjures up images of Doug Henning in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (not an altogether unpleasant thought, actually), but no, this is yet another "Free E.T." retread, politically correct to a fault with the formulaic estranged radio talk show host dad (Mark Harmon), teenage son, true believer 10-year-old daughter and the legendary lake monster who brings them together. It didn't make much of a splash in theaters, but on video, it might make a few waves with children. A very optional purchase. (D. Liebenson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
