This amateurish-yet mildly-amusing indie farce follows the peripatetic travels of a mischievous old geezer who runs off from a gourd convention by stowing away in a couple's RV, and while on the road has some pretty Kerou-wackian adventures before meeting--at long last--his sexy senior soulmate. Their screen smooching proves to be the film's apogee of cinematic truth and charm--and blasts the conventional contention that old folks should not git jiggy wit it. Good use of local (Cleveland) community theater and TV talent enhance the production, and a synthesized Charlie Brown-ish score provides a vibrant vibe and zippy continuity. Producer, director, screenwriter Carol Hoffman did an admirable, but incomplete, job of bringing Sixtysomething to fruition--with a seasoned technical crew, more backing and more takes, it might have been something special. Still, an optional choice for libraries and centers with larger holdings on materials for seniors. (W. Pierce)
