With no pretense of brains or decorum, this unapologetic goofball of a movie is dumb and screwy and proud of it. Yabba dabba doo! Mark Addy (The Full Monty) stars as Fred to Stephen Baldwin's Barney (playing him dumb as a box of rocks and obviously enjoying it no end) in their younger days when they were courting Wilma and Betty (Kristen Johnston and Jane Krakowski). It's mostly dinosaur farts and Stooge-y slapstick, but the performances are mimicked perfectly from the cartoon and, frankly, it had me grinning ear-to-ear when I wasn't laughing out loud. The game cast includes Thomas Gibson (Dharma & Greg) as a rich rival scheming for Wilma's affections, Harvey Korman and Joan Collins as her high-society parents, and the sublime Alan Cumming as both the Great Gazoo and a pouty rock 'n' roll rooster named Mick Jagged. Recommended. (R. Blackwelder)
