Based on a true story about a sick psycho (played by Anthony Wong) who earned the nickname "the Bunman" because he killed people and served them as pork roll buns to his unwitting restaurant clientele, this utterly obnoxious film pairs cheesy girlie humor (that even frat jocks would find offensive) with ugly scenes of graphic brutality, particularly towards women and children. Wong inexplicably won a 1993 Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor for his one-note crazed performance. What the filmmakers fail to note here is the difference between disturbing and disgusting: A Clockwork Orange is a good example of the former; this story--which should have remained untold--exemplifies the latter. Not recommended. (R. Pitman)
