Tom Noonan wrote, starred in, and directed this eerie psychological study of a paralegal (Noonan) and a secretary (Karen Sillas) who meet in the latter's NYC walk-up apartment for dinner and a conversation that gradually turns disturbing. Ignore the pointlessly salacious box art, this low-budget sleeper, which picked up a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, is a gripping character study of alienated, dysfunctional adults. Highly recommended. (R. Pitman)
