My wife and I have a theory about investing seminars: while they often promise to unlock the secrets of wise investment decisions in a simple and straightforward manner, most are complex enough to convince audience members that what they really need is a broker to do the heavy lifting (that's not necessarily a bad thing, as there are many good reasons to work with professionals rather than toughing it out on your own). Aimed at the advanced (but not necessarily professional) investor, A Complete Course in Option Trading Fundamentals features Joseph Frey, who describes the differences between stocks and options, underscores the importance of timing, and offers strategies for bullish options investors, while serving up case studies to help illustrate his approaches and tips. As in Traders' Library's other titles (see review of Becoming a Disciplined Trader in VL-5/04), this program was apparently filmed at a hotel meeting room before a small audience, and the picture is often unwisely framed with the Power Point slides prominent to the left of the screen, a tiny Frey to the right, and between the two a large door with a clearly-visible--and somewhat enticing--exit sign. Better camerawork, and more post-production work (with real graphics to help illustrate key points) could have made this presentation a bit more compelling on video. Not a necessary purchase. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
