Although library video collections often carry a good selection of first aid and personal safety videos, these programs are unlikely to offer guidance on how to react to a truly catastrophic event such as a flood, earthquake, tornado, hurricane, or out-of-control fire. Condition Red, while acknowledging the fact that no one can completely prepare for a natural disaster, presents some sound ideas for handling emergencies: from having a plan and putting together a “disaster kit,” to suggestions for maintaining contact with family members during a crisis and what to do with family pets. Although afflicted communities can expect aid from governmental agencies, these services usually arrive after the fact, making the initial-response information contained in this program potentially valuable to individuals and families, as well as a solid training resource for law enforcement professionals and emergency aid centers. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
