Although this program is part of the Crunch series, there isn't a bit of bone-cracking, abdominal-stretching, sweat-producing "crunch" action in this relaxing yoga nightcap. In fact, the focus here isn't on whether you can lay your elbows on the floor while in a standing position, but rather on the importance of breathing fully with each pose--and we're talking heavy nose breathing with a purpose here (think: Darth Vader). Lithe and lissome Sara Ivanhoe returns to the yoga mat here (see review of Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies [VL-3/02]) for more fine instruction on the art of restorative yoga, with an emphasis on increasing flexibility and releasing tension after a stressful day. Ivanhoe encourages viewers to practice each pose at their own individual levels, while demonstrating alternative positions throughout, including more challenging ones for advanced yogis. Nicely paced, with lovely music by Daveed Ajian, this soothing tape provides a perfect close of day low-key exercise regimen. Highly recommended.
