The sights of San Francisco are almost a cliché; nevertheless, anyone needing an overview of the standard sights and attractions of the city would be well served by this overview. Viewers will see the Golden Gate bridge, the cable cars, the parks, the museums, the crooked, precipitous streets, with special emphasis given to the waterfront area and popular tours, such as the boat trip to Alcatraz and side trips to Sausalito, Tiburon and the Napa Valley. Shown to advantage from sunrise to sunset, the sights are allowed to speak for themselves, and commentary is minimal--which makes this program easy on the eyes, if not the most informative of travel videos. Attractive, if unexceptional, this is worth considering for general collections. Aud: P. (J. Reed)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
