If I had a nickel for every time an aerobics instructor blurted "you got it!," I'd never have to watch another exercise video again. Exercise Fun With Buddy Bird is another plain vanilla children's exercise video with the standard costumed character twist. After a brief intro in which a kid gets couch potato Buddy Bird away from the TV set and onto the exercise floor, aerobics instructor Ginger Jones leads a group of kids and Buddy through a basic "you got it!" 26-minute routine. Except for the occasional close-up, Buddy is a sideline character for the remainder of the program, making this a poorly conceptualized program in addition to being a run-of-the-mill kid's exercise tape. Too, although it's aimed at kids "8 and up," not too many pre-teens are going to be wowed by the show's Barney-like ambiance. Not recommended. Better choices here are Dance! Workout With Barbie (VL-6/92) which also has the character twist, and Total Teen Fitness (VL-4/92), which doesn't. (R. Pitman)
