Dr. Lee Harris, avian veterinarian, is the host and brains behind this comprehensive video which addresses everything you ever wanted to know about bird care, and then some. The topics include: selecting a bird, exams, cages, grooming, sex, common health problems (including mental health--they can get neurotic), environment, feeding, and toys. Although his narration is slightly stiff, Dr. Harris really knows birds and he demonstrates a wide range of activities close up. Overall, the video presents a tremendous amount of advice and information in an easily understood and organized manner. A very good purchase for public libraries. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
