Personal trainer Jari Love is the instructor for this multi-phase fitness program designed to burn calories for maximum weight/body fat loss and add muscle definition. Aimed at viewers serious about fitness, Get Ripped!—which uses weights, a step, and a mat—jumps right into a warm-up, followed by a routine consisting of exercises for the chest, back, triceps, adductors/abductors, biceps, shoulders, and abs, finishing up with a cool-down that finds Love finally breaking her “lift now, rest later” mindset to offer up quiet reflection (the hardest part is getting started!). Although the no muss, no fuss approach is a bit daunting (skull press, anyone?), the program is definitely inspiring (especially on the day after your first session, when you have aches in places you never even realized muscles existed!). Emphasizing the importance of establishing proper form, Get Ripped!—which features a pumping soundtrack—could truly get you ripped (in a good way).
