This 3-tape series was designed to provide viewers with the basic skills to fend off personal assault and perform an aerobic workout incorporating the learned stances. Naturally, before I cued up this self-defense workout tape, I envisioned a group of fitness bunnies in aerobic formation all smiling and screaming "groin kick, eye-gouge, family-jewels punch, three more, two more." Well, I wasn't completely wrong, but I was impressed with the actual presentation, which was well organized (covering attack scenarios, defense moves, and aerobics) and the solid film technique, which utilized slow motion, overhead shots, picture in picture, and split screen demonstration of the self-defense technique, followed by the workout using those same skills. Recommended. (N. Plympton)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
