Knives, whirling blades, open flames, electrical shock--this chamber of horrors lurks in every comfy domestic kitchen. "The Most Dangerous Room in the House" can be a real hazard for the unwary and uneducated. While on the surface, the information presented here seems so elementary it shouldn't need stating ("throw away moldy food"), the fact is that there are millions of households where latchkey kids fix dinner for their working parents. With their folks absent, how will the children learn the importance of kitchen cleanliness, proper food handling, and how to avoid fires and burns? This video is well-organized and nicely presented. It would be a good purchase for school libraries, especially those which no longer have politically-incorrect home economics classes; children need to learn this somewhere. However, the price compared to the short length makes it an optional purchase for public libraries, where Scouting groups would likely be the main clientele for this title. Recommended, with reservations. (R. Reagan)
