Hosted by knitting expert Bev Dillon, this is a pleasant low-key introduction to the art of knitting which covers both the American and the Continental styles. Following an overview of the basics (tools of the trade, casting, purling, various stitches), there are seven video "chapters" which cover specific areas (i.e. "Decreases, Increases, Short rows"; "Textures, Cables, Lace"; "Seams, Joinings"; etc.) In all, over 60 different knitting techniques are shown in this two-hour plus video. Not a glitzy production, but a solid, dependable intro to the subject. Recommended. (Available from: Delta Video Productions, 2027 Eastlake E., Suite 303, Seattle, WA 98102.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
