Since its initial release in 1984, this program has consistently received high accolades, winning an award at the John Muir Medical Film Festival in 1986, and being listed in ALA's Video For Libraries. Hosted by Ed Asner, and based on the ideas and techniques of stress specialist David Gross, this program covers monitoring one's stress level, ventilation techniques (our favorite was creating new swear words), relaxation exercises, and self-appreciation. Sure, there's a bit of chaff with the wheat here. But, by and large, this program offers some very helpful suggestions for reducing a problem which plagues all of us to some degree. (One quibble: this is a re-release with a jacked price-with no PP rights either, making it a very expensive instructional "home video". If you find a copy of Morris Video's release of this program, it will cost you half the price.) Recommended. (Available from: Mood Partners, P.O. Box 3391, La Jolla, CA 92038.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
