After a failed sandbox project, father and daughter head for the beach to consult with some sand sculpting experts, where they learn how to select a site, pack the sand, use a variety of tools (hands, shells and everyday items like a melon baller or a straw) and work on a simple turreted castle structure, before moving on to advanced techniques in the construction of a more elaborate castle. Oddly, the scene then switches from the seashore to a segment on face carving, which is complex in execution and results in a crude and unappealing sculpture, before winding up back at the sandbox, with father and daughter happily completing a project thanks to their new found skills. Informative, but somewhat disjointed (due to the face carving segment), this is an optional purchase. Aud: P. (J. Reed)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
