Produced by a pair of registered nurses, this brief how-to offers simulations and step-by-step procedures for handling the medical emergencies of drowning, choking, and poisoning in children aged 1-8. While the instruction is good, the stutter-frame effects during the video simulations and the cheesy ominous music make this a less than optimum purchase. A better choice here (though also somewhat sensationalized) is In A Split Second (VL-1/95), which is both more comprehensive and less expensive ($19.95). Not a necessary purchase. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
