Aimed at high school students preparing to take the A.C.T., this mental exercise video opens with some general information and suggestions about taking the A.C.T., followed by extended segments on English Usage, Reading, Science Reasoning, and Math. In each section, a teacher begins by advising students on overall strategies, and then covers the sample problems in the included workbook. While Maximize Your A.C.T. Scores is not a bad program, having the workbook (extras can be ordered for $5 each) tied-in to the video makes it unsuitable for public libraries. Too, the tape ends with a rather obvious commercial for the co-producer's Woodmen of the World & Assured Life Association's "College Tuition Assistance Program." Not a necessary purchase. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
