Called Your Public Image: Conducting Yourself in the Business World onscreen, this informative program features communications specialists Jeffrey B. Arthur and Kathleen Murphy sharing skills necessary to develop a dynamic public image through a process of recognizing personal strengths and bringing them to the surface through clothing/grooming style, body language, and verbal communication skills. Information is presented in a fast-paced, alternating narrative style with some dramatizations and expert commentary and on-screen graphics thrown in for variety. The first segment on clothing selection for both men and women is particularly informative, as two clothing salespeople discuss the various wardrobe elements and combination/color/style choices related to body shape, hair and skin color. Additional topics include dos and don'ts of interviews, and tips for developing telephone and video conferencing skills. Designed for the rising business person as well as entry level workers, this program would be a good choice for public library business collections and for use in college business classes. Compliments and augments some information presented in the video Men's Style (VL-9/95). (J. Scholtz)
