In today's highly competitive business world, finding the right polished look can have a radical effect on your job performance as well as your journey up the corporate ladder. At least, that's the premise of this program. In a fast-paced, informative style, this video illustrates the optimum business wardrobe. Voice-over narration leads viewers through a chapter-based approach, focusing first on suits, coats and trousers; then discussing coordinating elements such as dress shirts and neckties, mentioning accessories along the way. Additional topics include: matching suit style (i.e. Traditional, American, European and Contemporary) to business environment and physical characteristics, choice of fabrics and patterns, and suit rotation and care. This program is replete with examples, both still and full motion, of business wear and accessories and provides some excellent information. (However, the lost art of tying a tie [Windsor, 4 in hand, and bow tie] could have been well-illustrated in video form rather than relegating it to a card placed inside the video.) This program deserves a place alongside the largely female-dominated fashion video section. Highly recommended for libraries with larger business collections. (J. Scholtz)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
