Forget all the past confusion, frustration, and pitfalls of learning new math concepts. This simple but innovative video lesson offers the clearest, simplest introduction to basic algebra I've come across. The format is unassuming--narration over related graphics--yet it is used to full potential, and does not become tedious. A grasp of basic junior high math skills is assumed (familiarity with the four operations, fractions, etc.) and used as the base from which new algebraic terms and concepts are taught. Although the math level is early high school, the video is excellent for remedial adult use as well. Word problems (usually involving workplace situations) are targeted to an adult audience and the narration's clarity and slow speed make it ideal for users with limited English proficiency. The individual titles in the complete 6-video course, which includes an excellent study guide/workbook, are: Order of Operations; Addition, Subtracting, Multiplying; Laws of Algebra, Solving Equations; Solving Problems; Inequalities, Linear Equations, and Linear Equations, Graphs. Highly recommended. Other courses available from ModuMath include: Whole Numbers, Fractions, Percents & Signed Numbers, and Advanced Algebra. Aud: H, C, P. (E. Gieschen)
