Providing an honest-yet-upbeat look at the realities of rehabilitation, this program interviews four well-spoken adults who have mobility disabilities, showing them at work and, most interestingly, at play, enjoying tennis, hockey, skiing, flying planes, and driving cars. We learn a bit about what their lives are like, including details of the sometimes terrifically painful and lonely periods of adaptation and transition, when people newly disabled still secretly retain glimmers of hope that all will be well, though realities say otherwise. As well done as this production is, though, it does not really cover any new territory in the health or social services arenas. Recommended for those without similar fare. Aud: P. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
