This is the kind of item that drives librarians crazy. First of all, the tape is excellent, thorough, and likely to be very popular. Unfortunately, it also comes with an 80-page book called My Personal Healthcare Plan which is full of the fill-in-the-blank, check-a-box spaces that we know will get written in by our less bright (or simply less considerate) patrons. To make matters worse, you can't simply ditch the book because a) the video makes repeated references to it, including stop video frames where one is instructed to write in the book and b) the text, drawings and diagrams in the book are too good to discard. What to do? Larger libraries should plan on ordering, and then purchase X-number of additional books to periodically replace ratty circulating copies. Smaller libraries should use discretion. It is a wonderfully informative tape on mid-life (and after) health--but the book, the book! Flip a coin. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
