Hosted by Robert Prosky (Hill Street Blues), this informative and well-produced half-hour program examines the dangers of radon: a natural radioactive gas, which is both colorless and odorless, and is estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency to affect as many as 8 million homes. After outlining the ways that radon can enter the home, the video advises viewers on how to test for the presence of radon, discusses acceptable levels, and outlines steps homeowners can take to reduce radon levels. With the Surgeon General's estimate that radon may be responsible for as many as 20,000 lung cancer deaths a year, public awareness of radon is on the rise. This program delivers the facts, and offers practical advice. The EPA booklet "A Citizen's Guide to Radon" is included with the tape. Highly recommended. (Available from: Baker & Taylor Video, 501 S. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
