Now who doesn't enjoy a good foot massage? My sweetie and I often rub each other's tired tootsies at the end of the day as a way to relax and reconnect, but--truth be told--we're mere amateurs at the game, massaging at willy-nilly random. Turns out there's a method to massage madness, a natural healing technique known as reflexology, in which practitioners stimulate specific pressure points in the feet to solve a host of health problems. In this video, well-known and respected reflexologist Ann Gillanders demonstrates her healing skills on a group of women in Florida (the very land where Ponce de Leon believed he would find the all-healing Fountain of Youth), focusing on conditions particular to women--infertility, PMS, pregnancy, breast problems, etc.--while pointing out the exact spot on the foot that can be kneaded to restore the proper flow of energy within the human body. The thumbnail graphics accompanying each session are particularly useful, the close-up camerawork is excellent, and the holistic healing approach presented here also includes attention to diet, environmental factors, and overall fitness level. An excellent companion to Gillanders' Reflexology (VL-11/97), this is recommended for most libraries (although the enclosed credit-card-sized foot chart will probably disappear within the first few circulations).
