A few definitions with "review" repetitions doesn't necessarily make an educational video. For the price (high) and the length (short) of this title, you might expect to see some really great examples of robotics, like an automotive robot reprogrammed to pick up and handle delicate antiques, as the Volvo company once had in a museum display. Instead we get fairly standard footage of a shop floor sporting machines doing machine things with no 'gee whiz,' Popular Mechanics type fun. While the tape is fully functional when it comes to defining robotics and the parts of the machines, it utterly fails to inspire any sense of 'oh cool!' among the next generation of could-be designers. What was science fiction a generation ago is old news today, and this presentation doesn't help pique the curiosity; rather, with its prosaic emphasis on vocabulary, and very straight-laced treatment, the subject is reduced to just another boring School Program. Strictly optional. Aud: J, H. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
