Vocal cords need exercise too, especially if one wants to fill the world with song, and this upbeat, entertaining, and informative video shows prospective viewers the basics of training those vocal cords. Beginning with a series of tongue-twisters to limber up, the program then moves on to voice projection, running up and down the scales, and using a mirror to monitor your progress. Some of the scale exercises sound a bit silly: imagine singing "Joy Jingle Parking Girl Waiting." But these phrases were chosen not for their literary value but for their value as good singing exercises. Video and sound qualities are both good, and the cast is very enthusiastic and supportive. A minor quibble is with the extensive props. Every exercise is built around some kind of visually appealing theme (wind-up ballerina, people in cardboard cars, etc.) which is not really necessary. Other than that, this is a good tape in an area where there are few other titles on video. Recommended. (Available from: Professional Media Service Corp., 13620 So.
