"If you're friendly toward others, others will be friendly toward you, including bosses. Don't forget, bosses are people, too." This light-hearted yet practical tape outlines the soft skills people with "limited work histories" need to strengthen their etiquette, teamwork, dependability, and other job skills: arrive on time; accept change gracefully; don't leave early or take office supplies, etc. Providing realistic tips via a humorous storyline, the producers narrowly avoid crossing the thin line that separates most adult-basic-education material from juvenile material. Despite its use of animation, overly bouncy music, and repetition of the phrase "I'm a pro!," this video more-or-less maintains an adult tone throughout, and really imparts good advice to those with extensive work histories, too. Also laudable is the diversity of people onscreen (including people with disabilities, immigrants, seniors and welfare-recipients). Recommended for well-funded collections. Aud: H, P. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
