Well, I don't know how I ever wrote papers back in the '80s when I was in high school: I actually read books, took notes and organized my thoughts onto index cards before writing! Can you believe it? Aimed at the 21st century student, Term Paper Wizard shows viewers how to combine the use of that ultramodern invention, the Internet, with word processing technology in order to create term papers efficiently without sacrificing quality and personal style. Beginning with the most basic of term paper tasks--choosing a topic--the program counsels viewers on using search engines effectively, organizing an outline, formatting footnotes and bibliographies, and using the term paper features in Microsoft Word. While phrases such as "cut and paste the information into your paper" and "paraphrase what you use" bother me somewhat, the video also includes an extensive discussion on the difference between plagiarism and paraphrasing. Unfortunately, the intended audience will likely find this information-dense but occasionally inaccurate and unfocused program to be rather dry. Not a necessary purchase. Aud: J, H, C, P. (J. Asala)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
