The art of acupuncture grew up in the east, and like other eastern ways of thought, differs sharply from western practices. Whereas the west has traditionally sought to treat the symptom, eastern medicine has taken a more holistic approach. This guide to acupuncture begins with a brief history, and then discusses the various techniques associated with acupuncture: needles, moxa, cupping, acupressure, and electric treatments, and how these methods are employed differently for adults and children. Although the information is occasionally presented too rapidly for easy assimilation, this program differs markedly from many other "new age" or "alternative" videos, in that it actually does contain a wealth of useable information. It is not a how-to tape, per se, rather it seeks to educate the public about acupuncture, and does a reasonably good job of it. Recommended. (Available from: Lifeforms, P.O. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
