Designed to introduce high school students to the 'Dilbert' world, this video makes a point of emphasizing how important it is for employees who wish to be successful to fine tune their skills in order to meet organizational needs. The essential qualities needed to become a team player are Contribution, Teamwork, Attitude, and Organization; these points are further illustrated through the use of interviews with employees who have been singled out as 'exceptional' as well as with the employers who selected them. This is a very straightforward, unadorned video that presents its information solidly, and while it may not win any prizes for originality, it does give students a realistic look at what they might expect if and when they go to work for any organization. The independent-minded youth of today might rebel at the conformist tone of this video, but they cannot help but be aided by the commonsense approach to being successful in today's business environment. While the somewhat pedantic presentation could have been improved with the addition of situational examples, the film is recommended for most high school career libraries. Aud: H. (J. Carlson).
