This video strains for effect in "by the way" asides made to George, "the pregnant father." People suggest how George could make his wife more comfortable, including what to do when she's constipated, has hemorrhoids, etc. This straightforward information is the most useful part of the tape. Unfortunately, the whole tape is straining hard to be a real laff riot, ripping off Seinfeld, Home Improvement, even the office sequence from the movie Brazil. We follow George around during his wacky mixed-up day where everyone offers him obstetrical information--heck, even the TV and talk radio shows become virtual Baby Channels. Buried in the cutesyness, the tape does offer sound information on baby care basics like bathing and diaper changing. Because there are men who need this information--those who might be turned off by a "high brow" tape--this is appropriate for public libraries, despite its cheesy script. An optional purchase. (R.
