What could have been an interesting discussion on how the Bible relates to the theory of evolution becomes a tedious discourse that will confuse many and please few. There is no doubt in most people's minds that biblical accounts of creation are at odds with scientific evidence and if the video had managed to address this issue directly, it would have had much more of an impact. Instead, it relies on confusing graphics and talking heads that do little to clarify the situation. In addition, the review copy sported a queasy greenish tint, and the program--which could have benefited from some judicious editing--is too long by half. A better exploration of the topic can be found in PBS Video's In the Beginning: The Creationist Controversy. Not recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
