Intended for middle and high school students, this short "discussion starter" explores the dynamics behind the choices that teens face. It is the producers' hope that students will "learn practical advice on making the most of their options, reexamining and reevaluating the way they think and the way they choose their actions and responses to life's daily experiences." To that end, four segments demonstrate the different aspects of decision-making via the analogy of driving: Plotting your Own Course, Bumps in the Road, Merging Traffic, and Conflict at the Crossroads. Questions are raised at the end of each segment, which are repeated in the pamphlet accompanying the tape. Via interviews, real-life examples, film clips, and music, Camfel has produced a series of these types of tapes, most of which have been well received by school personnel and students themselves, although more careful text editing was needed for this particular one: the word "dissension" appears variously as "dissention" or "dessension." Still, this is recommended for schools collecting materials for ethics discussions. Aud: I, J, H. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
